Christine Busch, violin

Already as a student Christine Busch played in ensembles such as Concentus Musicus Wien (Nikolaus Harnoncourt), the Chamber Orchestra of Europe (Claudio Abbado) and the Freiburger Barockorchester. In the meantime she works together (as concertmaster) with Philippe Herreweghe and Thomas Hengelbrock and has been invited by Camerata Bern and Kammerakademie Potsdam as a guest conductor and performer. She has made recordings with Carus, cpo, Dabringhaus und Grimm and harmonia mundi france with such ensembles as Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Camerata of 18th Century, Salzburger Hofmusik and Ensemble Explorations. Her latest releases include the sonatas for violin and harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach with Kay Johannsen (Carus) and chamber music by Rossini and Mendelssohn with Ensemble Explorations (harmonia mundi france). In 1997 Christine Busch accepted a position as Professor of violin at the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin and she was invited to join the faculty of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Stuttgart, where she has been teaching since 2000.
